We run two separate pottery taster sessions (adults only) on Saturdays. Morning taster sessions run from 10am until 12:30pm and afternoon sessions run from 1pm until 3.30pm. A taster session costs £75 which includes refreshments. Please see below for details of the next dates and availability.

We suggest you arrive a few minutes before the session is due to begin so you can meet the tutor and put your bags/coats away. Everything will be provided for you, so you can just relax and enjoy yourself. You will have a quick tour of the studio before being shown a variety of different hand building techniques.

Next you will get the chance to make something. A pot or small vase is a good starting point and is an enjoyable way to help you get used to handling clay. You can also try out some different ways of adding texture and decoration to personalise your work.

After a quick break for refreshments (tea, coffee etc and cakes/biscuits) you will have a go on the pottery wheel. We have 15 wheels, and this is a really fun introduction to throwing.

At the end of the session you will be able to choose three pieces to keep. These will be fired and can be picked up at a later stage. Please note this is a long process and can take up to a month to be ready for collection. We will get in touch once your work is ready. Unfortunately, due to such a high demand for taster sessions, we can only keep finished work for two months.

Taster Sessions are suitable for those aged 15 years and over (please note, however, those who are aged between 15-18 must be accompanied by an adult).
