Taster Sessions

Our one-off taster sessions are ideal for beginners. You’ll learn the basics of throwing on a wheel, plus a range of hand building skills through demonstrations and plenty of hands on exercises.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR SESSION

What’s Included

Taster sessions are 3 hours long. There are a maximum of 12 people in a class, with at least 2 experienced teachers taking care of the group. They run on Saturdays with a morning (9:30am - 12:30pm) session and afternoon (1:00pm - 4pm) session available.

  • Take a guided look around the studio and get introduced to a range of handbuilding techniques to begin your pottery experience

  • Shape and create your own mug or vase using handbuilding methods, adding your own details and personality.

  • Have a go on the pottery wheel and experience the joy of throwing clay for the first time.

  • Choose three of your favourite creations to be glazed and fired.

  • All clay, glazes, and tools are provided, so you can simply come along and enjoy the process

  • £85 per person

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Just arrive a few minutes early to get settled – then relax and enjoy!

  • Suitable for ages 15+ (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult)

  • Finished pieces are ready in around a month – we’ll contact you when they’re ready to collect. Unfortunately, due to such a high demand for taster sessions, we can only keep finished work for two months.

  • Yes, you can change the date as long as it is more than five working days before the event, subject to availability.

    Unfortunately we will not be able to offer you a refund or an alternative session without adequate notice as we will not be able to fill your space.

  • Yes, we will send an email to the address provided 10-12 days before. This will give you all the information you will need to know. Do add us to your contacts and check your junk mail folder if you don’t receive the email.
