The Ceramic Studio provides a wide range of pottery classes, taster sessions and workshops. We warmly welcome everyone, from complete beginners to experienced potters.

Set in two converted barns on a beautiful orchard in Brenchley, The Ceramic Studio is easily accessible from Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Paddock Wood. Our pottery classes are run by experienced, dedicated tutors and class sizes are intimate to ensure everyone’s needs are met.

GUEST POTTER WORKSHOP 2026

Russell Kingston
Slip Decorated Earthenware

During this five-day workshop Russell will teach a combination of throwing techniques using country pottery traditions, as well as giving a thorough introduction to slip decoration.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. There is free parking directly outside the studio. We do ask that you are mindful when parking so that we can maximise on the space we have and also to be respectful of our neighbours.

  • Our studio is wheelchair accessible to the majority of users with standard sized chairs. There is a wheelchair-accessible toilet in the new studio, The Grain Store, which can be accessed easily from the car park. Unfortunately we do not have any wheelchair accessible pottery wheels but our benches are suitable for wheelchair users to hand build or sculpt.

  • No, we do not offer a firing service for work produced outside of our studio.

  • There is a small charge for fired work. Charges are as follows:

    £5 per 500g for glazed work

    £6 per 500g for glazed work with oxide

    £10 per 500g for any glazed work over 30cm in height or width

    £2 per 500g for work that is bisque fired but not glazed

    We may refuse to fire work if we consider that this would be a risk to other work and/or our kilns. Please also note that The Ceramic Studio does not offer a glazing service.

  • We are not able to offer drop-in sessions as we run termly classes everyday and do not have studio capacity to do this.

  • We currently do not offer studio memberships.
