Sophie Aguilera Lester
Flower Making in Porcelain
20th - 21st June 2026 | 2 Day Workshop | £440
During this workshop students will learn how to hand build fine porcelain flowers.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Course in Detail
During this two-day workshop students will learn to sculpt and build a selection of clay flowers using press moulds and unique hand building techniques that will allow them to master the art of flower making. The course will involve creating a small floral wall piece and a larger scale flower using different coloured porcelains.
In addition, students will be taught a number of decorating techniques as well as tips for building and firing delicate pieces.
Sophie will give a series of demonstrations and will guide and encourage students to achieve the best results.
Once the pieces are completed, they will be left to dry and then fired in our kilns. For those who would like their pieces to be glazed in a transparent glaze, our technicians will do this after bisque firing and then they will be fired again. These will be ready for collection a few weeks later (there will be a small additional firing charge).
Each student will have their own dedicated workspace and will receive plenty of individual attention. There will be opportunities for students to discuss their work with their fellow students and on a one-to-one basis with Sophie.
Please note, there will be a small additional firing charge for final pieces. Please see our Student Contract for details.
